As wikipedia says, a heavy debt is owed to the band Mineral, and "Novice" sounds lifted note-for-note from Sunny Day Real Estate "In Circles". "State N W/K" is limited to a jittery riff and a breakdown, though it's a pretty cool riff, and the awakening feedback of opener "E To W" is a fantastic basis for a this minimalist song. "Peril, Pts. 1, 2, And 3"****, unlike it's name, is a concise, hopping melodic pop song, similar to The Promise Ring. "Beach Gray" is practically instrumental, but has an interesting "Battle Of Evermore" feel. The actual instrumental recordings of ambient hum are absolutely unnecessary, and make this offering slighter than the promise of 9 tracks suggests.
