Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - BRMC

1x*****, 3x****
Sticks to predictable Shoegazer/Goth/Britpop formula, but works especially well on "Love Burns", and heavier "Awake". "Head Up High" gets all somber, but keeps the progressions interesting; acutally so does "As Sure As The Sun" - it's kind of a toss-up which one to keep. The droning "Red Eyes and Tears" pushes the showgazer-britpop out the window with a chorus riff that is just evil. The rest follow the formula pretty closely, which while each song gravitates to one side of the triangle, is consistent."Salvation" goes takes it further in the Spiritualized direction - not that that's necessarily bad, but the chorus is so played I have to skip it.
