Gram Parsons' debut solo album left the country-rock styling of his former band for straight country, meaning there are fiddles, pedal steel, and country swing time in abundance. The hoe-down kicks off the energetic "Still Feeling Blue"****, followed by the charming country shuffle "We'll Sweep Out The Ashes In The Morning", and "A Song For You"****, a pretty, slow ballad. All feature the great Emmylou Harris on vocals.  Except for the album's slow R&B single, "She", the middle of the album settles into a similar slow country groove and drags until "Cry One More Time", a country-flavored "Blueberry Hill" (I'm thinking of the Fats Domino version). The album closes with some rock-n-roll "Big Mouth Blues", a cross between the Stones and The Band.
