The Flaming Lips - Oh My Gawd!!!

It's the one with the psychedelic cover with the creepy skulls - not tremendously different for its predecessor, the debut album Hear It Is. Opening track "Everything's Explodin'" is fun and catchy enough, but also forgettable except for Richard English's manic drumming. "One Million Billionth of a Millisecond On A Sunday Morning" is another great title that doesn't pay off at all; 4-1/2 minutes of drag and 4 minutes of jamming on D with more manic drumming. "Maximum Dream For Evil Knievel" and "The Ceiling Is Bendin'" are rockin' but tuneless. "Prescription: Love", "Thanks To You", and "Can't Stop The Spring" have the distinction of actually sounding like songs but are still pretty amateurish, and at almost 8 minutes the clunky "Love Yer Brain" is almost painful (actually 2-1/2 minutes of that seems to be the boys beating up on a piano or possibly furniture - seems fitting enough).
