A couple surprises begin this album from 2012, namely two instrumentals. Opener "Panic In Babylon"**** is appropriately named, while "Vilholliseni Maala"**** is a nice combo of Stereolab and Sea & Cake. "Gaz Hilarant" and the 60's-psychedelia "I Wanna Hold You Other Hand"**** return to the band's circa 1967 Stones-y roots. "Face Down On The Moon", another eastern-flavored instrumental, marks the mid-point of the album, while resonant chanting drives "Seven Kinds Of Wonderful" skipping, tripping shuffle of "Stairway To The Best Party"**** fully embraces the comfortable 60's Nuggets aesthetic, closer "Blue Order New Monday"**** trades all that in for warm, gauzy samples and electronic drums, like a more-inviting My Bloody Valentine. I can honestly say I have never heard this particular combination of eastern influences, proto-rock, electronic effects, and samples, sometimes all in the same song. Newcombe and his rotating cast have definitely opened new horizons of what this band is capable of.
