Given that melody and structure are not a priority in this type of music, it's all about the rhythm, and tracks like the frantic "Tense and Anxious" are impressive in that respect, and opener has enough buzzy, boomy layers of guitar help keep the ever-busy percussion company. When the tense harmonies at the end of "Downwind Of Amour"**** or a unexpectedly melodic bridge in "Mossy Nethers"**** add to the formula it feels like a bonus, which unfortunately is a result of many of the songs not really developing past an initial idea. It also doesn't help that the 2 of 10 tracks called "Quinine Peninsula" (parts 1, 2, and 3) are little more than drum circle chants, and the third is just noise. The layers of rhythms, the interplaying vocals, and the busy riffage keep most of the tracks interesting, but I won't be remembering most of them.
