Dave Mason - Let It Flow

The album contained some interest for me as a pop album from a long-time member of Traffic. "So High" is a corny analog to "If You Like Pina Collada" and not a promising start, though this is followed by AM classics "We Just Disagree"**** and appropriately mysterious "Mystic Traveler"**** (though the former super-hit was actually penned by his second guitarist Jim Krueger). The middle of the album is dominated by Doobie Brothers/ Loggins-Messina soft rock, though "You Just Have To Wait Now" does a pretty good Eric Clapton impression, down to some nice slide guitar (the heavy horn production could have been left out). Perhaps tellingly, the next best hooks are on "What Do We Got Here?"****, which at least partially resembles his former band, but which was also penned by Krueger.
