Union Carbide Productions - In The Air Tonight

1x****
Influences of the Stooges are worn proudly on sleeve, though on many tracks such as opener "Ring My Bell" the messy, buzzing sound is closer to Bush. The squawking lead guitar of "Financial Declaration" has the sound closer to the Stooges first. Problem is, nothing can save these songs from Ebbot Lundberg's awful bellowing - no hint of the pleasing delivery heard on The Soundtrack Of Our Lives here. "So Long"**** actually does a really good impression on a lost track from Stooges' Funhouse, which is a very very good thing. Pretty much every song after this descends into pretentious noise topped by Lundberg's rants, which while actually better than his singing don't make the second half of the album any more enjoyable. While 11-minute psychedelic jam "Down On The Beach" is actually the most listenable track here, there is no reason to sit through all of it either.
