Rancid - And Out Come The Wolves

5x**** Frederiksen's "Maxwell Murder"**** shoots so to speak from the hip with the joyous singalong "Dial 999!", but Tim's "The 11th Hour" ("Do you know where the power lies") and "Roots Radicals" derail into to standard political fare until the MTV hit "Time Bomb" regains the plot. Armstrong's "Olympia, WA"**** and "Junkie Man"**** have as gleefully bad singing as any track, but also cool riffs and an engaging stories, as does "Daly City Train"**** Clash tributes such as "Listed MIA" and 2nd MTV hit "Ruby Soho" don't stand out but maintain a good string of songs. Frederiksen's are generally more straightforward and simple, but also obviously fun as "She's Automatic"****. If the album had left off there the remaining songs would not have blunted the effect of the first dozen, though "As Wicked" bring up the rear nicely, as "The Way I Feel" kinda drops the ball lyrically.
