5x****
Generally stronger when simpler, Go Forth opens with "Tragic Monsters"**** which bounces between a few phases before settling into the anthemic 'what we don't know' chorus. Similarly "Pills" and "Crawling Can Be Beautiful"**** builds slowly for sparse new wave to the anthemic coda. Simplicity is the key in "One to Three"****, which follows a rolling arpeggiated groove that flows comfortable compared to the more complex songs just mentioned."Disco Drive" is angular new wave. "Reprobate's Resume" and "The Slip" are more influenced by the percussive elements of Fugazi and Gang of Four. "Adopduction" is amusing but strangely simplistic as a result. The awesome "No Sleeves"**** is stronger by sticking to its theme and building its textural wall until all hell breaks loose. "Bloom On Demand"**** is another that simply builds logically from driving 80's verses, to angluar bridge, to its driving album ending coda.
