Eleventh Dream Day - Eighth

"For A King" is nicely recorded 'slowcore', and "Writes A Letter Home" continues the low-key level with a Tortoise-like instrumental track. "Two Smart Cookies" finally starts the rock with a nice two-chord riff which unfortunately loses momentum in the stop/start verses. "View From The Rim" starts with a cool 'Mars Audiac Quintet' intro until the ringing guitars enter, but don't change the direction of the song much. Most of the rest draws on the sound of Neil Young circa-Zuma, which makes for in this case a solid *** album, but no track stands out as most of the songs are 'Cortez The Killer' tempo.
