Brian blazes right into this synth-fest with the heavily-phased riff of "Sky Saw"****. "St. Elmo's Fire"**** is much lighter but with some truly whankeriffic guitar solos. "The Big Ship"**** is carried by big crescendo-ing chords on synth. "I'll Come Running" is in an earlier Velvet Underground style. The next three are all instrumental. "Golden Hours"**** eases in subtlely until a long burbling solo later in the song. "Becalmed" lives up to its name and is uneventful, but "Zawinu/Lava"**** is more dramatic, begging for some Antarctica footage or something. "Everything Merges With The Night"**** is very light until some huge synths at the bridge. "Spirits Drifting" ends with minor eerie instrumental.
